Quinta da Ribeira is located in Meca, in the medieval municipality of Alenquer, and is today the headquarters of the Félix Rocha Agricultural Society. This society began wine production in the mid-19th century, driven by the enthusiasm of Mr. Félix Rocha, the great-grandfather of the current managers.
Since 1991, the fourth generation of the family has recognized the need for continuous investment in production. There has been a complete recovery of the vineyards and the winery.
Today, it cultivates several hectares of vineyards, distributed among Quinta da Ribeira, Quinta do Casal do Mato, Quinta do Casal Novo, Quinta de São Cristovão, Quinta do Baracho, Quinta das Sete Pedras, Quinta da Amoreira, and Quinta do Morais.
The vines are planted in clay and limestone soils, on gentle and steep slopes with southern sun exposure. In these vineyards you can find national grape varieties such as Touriga Franca, Touriga Nacional, Tinta Roriz (Aragonez), Fernão Pires, Arinto, Alvarinho and Moscatel, and international varieties such as Merlot, Syrah, Petit Verdot, Alicante Bouschet, Caladoc, Petit Verdot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc.
