The family project was born from the entrepreneurial vision of José Paulo Rato and Helena Alexandre.
Both had backgrounds in agriculture, but José Paulo worked in fishing in Africa for over 30 years.
In 2010, he returned with the goal of preserving the family tradition of winemaking.
This tradition was inherited from his father, João Alexandre Rato, and passed down through generations.
Their children, Vera and Ricardo Rato, developed a passion for vineyards and agriculture from an early age.
With this heritage, the family business Arribas & Parcelas was created, with the support of winemaker Ricardo Oliveira Guimarães.
In 2018, the first wines were produced in the family's old winery.
Growth led to the need to build a new winery, also designed to accommodate visitors.
The new winery, begun in 2020, was designed with a focus on sustainability and integration with the environment.
Between 2022 and 2024, the winery was completed, held its first harvest, and opened to the public with wine tourism experiences.
Our space is prepared to welcome our visitors in a very welcoming way, with the genuine intention of making this moment memorable.
