The tour begins with a presentation of the estate's history and terroir. Visitors will then learn about the vineyard's cultivation methods before continuing with a tour of the winery and aging cellar.

You will discover the estate's winemaking process and its environmentally friendly philosophy. Finally, the tour will conclude with a tasting of four wines: the Dame de Couhins and Château Couhins cuvées.

About the host

Located at the gates of Bordeaux, in the heart of the Pessac-Léognan appellation, in Villenave d’Ornon, Château Couhins is a Cru Classé de Graves belonging to INRAE, the National Institute for Agronomic and Environmental Research.

With its historical roots, the property now deploys all the results of the viticultural research conducted by INRAE. The Château thus benefits from the latest innovations resulting from research to be the “showcase” of the institute, with the aim of promoting the excellence of scientific knowledge in the service of a prestigious wine and sustainable viticulture.

Labeled “Vignobles et Découvertes” by Atout France, Château Couhins is also the winner of a Best Of d’Or Wine Tourism in the category “Wine tourism promotion of environmental practices” in 2015 and “Sustainable wine tourism” in 2025.
