Quinta Vale D. Maria is located in the heart of the Douro Valley, in the Torto River valley, where nature and tradition meet in perfect harmony. Since 1868, with vineyards classified as the highest quality in the Douro Demarcated Region, the property has established itself as an excellent supplier for the production of Port wines. At the end of the 20th century, a new phase began in the region, marked by the discovery of its potential for the production of high-quality DOC Douro wines. It was in 1996 that Quinta Vale D. Maria began producing its own wines, standing out in this new stage of the Douro and developing work focused on the expression of the terroir and the valorization of old vines.
Since 2017, integrated into the Aveleda group, the Quinta maintains its character and legacy, now under the continuity of the Guedes family, reinforcing an intergenerational vision. With 33.6 hectares, it preserves a rare viticultural heritage, where plots over 80 years old still exist. The current commitment involves caring for and preserving the Douro as a living heritage, respecting the identity of each vineyard and ensuring that the region's future continues to express itself with authenticity and respect for time.
