Located in the Lafões region, in the municipality of São Pedro do Sul, Quinta do Gato has a 2.5-hectare vineyard planted on terraces at an altitude of 320 meters, on the sunny slopes of the Troço River, a tributary of the Vouga River, and a few kilometers from the country's largest thermal spas.
About 20 years ago, its owners invested in a vineyard with red grape varieties, namely Touriga Nacional, Jaen, Tinta Roriz, and Alfrocheiro.
On the borders, where a variety of white grape varieties predominate (Bical, Dona Branca, Fernão Pires, Arinto, Uva Cão, and Malvasia Fina), old vines over half a century old have been preserved.
The sun exposure and proximity to the river create a very peculiar microclimate, which favors the ripening of the grapes, capturing all the characteristics of its terroir.
