Quinta de Tourais, located in the Douro World Heritage area, has belonged to the Coelho family for three generations. Until 1999, all the grapes produced on the estate were sold to an exporting company for the production of Port wine.
In 1999, under the oenological responsibility of Fernando Coelho, the first wines began to be produced.
Currently, the property where our wines originate covers 8 hectares, with approximately 37,000 vines planted.
We are 100% committed to the traditional Douro grape varieties which, due to their richness and variety, produce unique wines with the personality of the land from which they originate. Between white and red grapes, the Quinta has around 30 different varieties, most of them in a vineyard plot that is over 60 years old.
The passion we put into the entire process, from tending the land and the plants to the final product, is felt in the unique character of the wines and is also reflected in the importance we place on their image. We always strive to combine the most valuable lessons learned from traditional production with the innovative techniques and technologies of the moment.
