Winery Horvat

Winery Horvat is a family-owned boutique winery located in Počehova, hills, which rise at the edge of Maribor, the second-largest Slovenian city and the holder of the oldest vine in the world. Our winery is a stone's throw away from Piramida, a small hill above the city, where the history of Maribor began.

Previous generations cultivated vineyards in various locations in Haloze, but fate wanted this brand - Vinogradi Horvat - to start developing in 1960 with the purchase of the family estate in Počehova. We are committed to continuing the heritage of viticulture and the careful way of growing and caring for wine, and at the same time upgrading it with today's knowledge.

Winery Horvat produces wines of different styles and types depending on the year. They are part of the Štajerska region which is known for being a cooler climate, which is why primarily the grape varieties and therefore also wines are white. Take a ride from sparkling wine, known white-wine varieties (like Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Riesling), Slovenian authentic wine varieties (like Modra Frankinja), powerful wines aged in barriques and end your adventure with the dessert sweet wines of Muscat and Traminer to conclude your unique evening of enjoying the local Slovenian culinary destination.
