Feel the Atlantic influence that shapes our wines, on a visit through the vineyards and winery, followed by a tasting of four distinct expressions of the Janas terroir. The tasting is accompanied by a small board of regional products. Includes a complimentary regional product from Sintra.

About the host
Quinta de San Michel is located in the village of Janas, Sintra, with a privileged view of the entire Serra de Sintra. Integrated in the historic wine-growing region of Colares, between the Serra and the Atlantic Ocean and providing unique climatic conditions, it was the starting point for a family project, characterized by a limited production of exclusive wines, which express the farm's terroir and which contribute for the economic and agricultural development of the region.
The vineyard was planted, in 2013, in an area of two hectares with three indigenous grape varieties, Arinto and Malvasia de Colares, (the latter being one of the few grape varieties in the world to have survived Phyloxera), and also Galego Dourado (2020 ) widely used for the historic wines of Carcavelos.
In 2023 we decided to expand our production by planting 5 hectares of vineyards, of which 2.5 hectares will be dedicated to the main grape varieties of the Colares region – Malvasia de Colares and Ramisco, planted in typical sandy soils.
