We will visit the organic estate of Domaine Jean-Charles Girard-Madoux, a winemaker for 20 years, located in the heart of Chignin, a typical Savoyard village. You will enjoy a guided tour and see the vats and barrels where our wines are aged. We will taste all 7 cuvées from parcels divided into 70% white and 30% red. You can enhance your visit with a walk in the vineyards on foot or in an old vintage VW van, and we will be happy to explain the different stages and work in the vineyard. We offer you a local aperitif of our delicious local cured meats and cheeses.

About the host
The Girard-Madoux family long owned a wine estate in the commune of Chignin, southeast of Chambéry in Savoie. The estate was sold in 1976.
The vines remained in the family for a few decades, until Jean-Charles Girard-Madoux began training to become a winemaker.
His studies in Beaune and his apprenticeship at Domaine Patrice Rion in Burgundy made him passionate about wine and working in the vineyard.
In 2006, one month after completing his BTS (Higher National Diploma) in viticulture and oenology, Jean-Charles Girard-Madoux purchased the vineyards to recreate the estate. It then consisted of 2.5 hectares of vines planted by his grandparents. Since then, the estate has expanded to 9 hectares, where the Jacquère, Mondeuse, Roussanne, Gamay & Petite Arvine grape varieties grow side by side.
