About the host
Antonio Winspeare, Duke of Salve, for the production of fine table wines and aged
bottled wines from grapes grown on the properties of Salve, Supersano and Depressa.
It was at the time the first establishment for the refinement and bottling of
wine in Salento.
The bulk of our agricultural work takes place on the historic family estate "Masseria Bosco Belvedere", located in the geographical center of lower Salento, just outside Supersano, at 110 meters above sea level.
Here we take daily care of our 19 hectares of vineyards, interspersed with olive groves, woods,
cereals and Mediterranean scrub. The soil here is sandy-clayey and has long been recognized for the
finesse and elegance of the wines that derive from it.
The focus is on the native grapes of Salento - Verdeca, Negroamaro, Malvasia Nera di Lecce, Primitivo - and together with other varieties, provided that they are exclusively Italian and southern grapes, which we grow in espalier with medium/low yields, with the use of natural soil improvers and fertilizers. We constantly use the practice of green manure to improve the structure of the soil and to provide essential organic matter for the natural balance of the vineyard. We conduct all the production processes, from processing the grapes, winemaking, refinement to bottling, inside the cellar built by our family in 1879, with an adjoining barrel cellar dug into the tuff.
