The experience begins with a guided tour of the 1927 factory, which operates using century-old steam-powered machines that are unique in Europe. The entire process of receiving, pressing, fermenting and distilling sugar cane is demonstrated.
Then, you will be taken to the private tasting room, where you will be offered 7 types of Rum (40% TVT Natural Rum, New Barrel TVT Rum, 3-Year-Old TVT Rum, 6-Year-Old 970 Reserve Rum, Single Cask Rum, Brandy Cask Rum and Madeira Wine Cask Rum).
We only produce Agricultural Rum, which means that it is made from fresh sugar cane juice. When you enter Engenhos do Norte, during the working season (March, April and May), your sense of smell is invaded by the sweet aroma of sugar cane juice and distilled Rum. The auditory system absorbs the rhythmic cadence of the machines in action and the palate tastes the unique flavor of internationally awarded Rums and the typical traditional Poncha, prepared daily.
