About the host
Founded in 1931, Adega Regional de Colares is the oldest cooperative in Portugal. The main objective of this cooperative is to use appropriate means and techniques to make wine from grapes grown on the farms of its members, small winegrowers, thus playing an important social role in the agricultural sector of the municipality of Sintra. The winery is very close to its members, providing technical assistance to winegrowers and supporting their activities. Our main objective is to protect and preserve the Colares wine culture. The winery building is impressive, its interior is stunning due to its size and the number of barrels it houses, constituting the area for ageing and aging in wood par excellence in this Demarcated Region. This cooperative winery has always been considered a national calling card and a historic building of the Sintra region.
