Visit with wine and cheese tasting

The origin of our sparkling wines dates back to the end of the Spanish Civil War, when Ramon Nadal Giró recovered the vineyards that were expropriated from him to make an airfield and decided to reorient the family business of the ‘fassina’ (wine distillery) towards the production of sparkling wine. As a result, the first bottle of Nadal Brut sparkling wine was released in 1943.

Eighty years later, our vineyards, cultivated following the guidelines of organic viticulture, continue to give us the fruit of the native and historical varieties of the Penedès – Xarel·lo, Parellada, Macabeo, Xarel·lo Vermell and Malvasía de Sitges – with which we make long-aged corpinnats using the artisanal rituals of the Méthode Champenoise.

Thanks to a more complete ripening of the grapes caused by the new climate, with drier and hotter springs and summers, in the 1990s we began the production of white wines from Xarel lo and the first sweet wine from natural Botrytis in Spain.

From the 1998 vintage we began the production of late harvest vinegar using the solera system, which today has an average ageing in casks of 15 years.
