Umbria, the green heart of Italy:
In 2007, California-based Skywalker bought 24 hectares on the northern shore of Lake Trasimeno in Umbria, the first European acquisition for a group that would further enrich itself in 2017 with the purchase of the boutique Château Margüi winery in Provence, southern France.

The Skywalker team immediately began restoring the Capuchin Friary, a 16th-century monastery at the center of the Skywalker estate, converting it into a welcoming and elegant ten-bedroom property. The Convent offers exclusive and impeccable comfort for those seeking the ultimate in pampered relaxation in an environment of magnificent natural beauty, with privileged access to the estate's wines, extra virgin olive oil and garden products.

In 2013, work began to convert the land around the convent, then mostly occupied by olive groves, into four hectares of vineyards interspersed with olive trees. The south, east and west-facing terraces, which slope elegantly from the Convent towards the sparkling waters of Lake Trasimeno, have been remodeled and planted with a mix of international varieties and native grapes, already grown for centuries in central Italy, to create wines which blend into the cosmopolitan and traditional spirit of the Skywalker at the same time.
