“The Specialist” is the latest proposal from Quinta do Bomfim – owned by Symington Family Estates for five generations, located in Pinhão –, getting to know the Douro is synonymous with tasting the best that is produced in the region.
The new tasting is made up of four excellent wines, two DOC and two Ports: Altano Reserva Branco Douro DOC, with the Viosinho variety highlighted; Quinta do Vesúvio Red Douro DOC, produced in the unique terroir of Douro Superior; Quinta do Vesúvio 1995 Vintage, with aromas of violets and rockrose; and Dow’s 30 Years Tawny, softened by three decades of aging in oak. “The Specialist” test is available for 75 euros.

About the host

Located on the north bank of the Douro River and known for producing the legendary Dow’s Vintage Port wines and some of the most recognized wines of the 20th century, Quinta do Bomfim is a one of the most iconic properties of the Symington family. Under your responsibility for five generations now, here visitors can stay to learn about the history of the property and the family, through a visit that takes them through the farm’s warehouse, cellar and vineyard.
In the end, a test reveals the secrets of some of the most
distinct Port wines and Douro DOC wines, always with the Douro as a backdrop.
