This tour begins with a visit to the old vineyards in the Charneca area. In the Calhau Rolado vineyard, in addition to a brief summary of the 300 years of history, you will also get to know this terroir, which is so unique and important to QA.

In the Winery and Barrel Room, you will discover the necessary steps to produce high-quality wines.

It is time for the Marquesa de Alorna tasting, in addition to tasting 2 of our top wines and 2 Late Harvests, you will be able to enjoy the landscape from the Palace balcony*.

The tasting will be accompanied by regional products such as cheese, sausages, olive oil, the typical caralhota (traditional bread from Almeirim) and dried fruits. Each Late Harvest will have a specific accompaniment, one sweet and one savoury.

*The location of the tasting is subject to weather changes. If it is not possible to hold it outside, it will take place in the Barrel Room.

About the host

Tradition combined with modernity. Quinta da Alorna has almost 300 years of history and has been in the Lopo de Carvalho family for five generations.

Quinta da Alorna was born in 1723 and this year celebrates its 300 years of history. It is located 90 km from Lisbon, close to the city of Santarém, next to the banks of the Tagus River. It owns a majestic three-hundred-year-old Palace, which has been completely restored. Its entrance is marked by a magnificent garden and an imposing and rare tree in the world, also centuries-old and known as “Beautiful Shadow”. Quinta da Alorna stands out not only for the quality of its wines but also for its natural spaces. With a total area of 2,600 hectares, Quinta da Alorna has been diversifying its business areas, in areas such as Agriculture and Forestry, with the strategic pillars of its operation being sustainability, social responsibility and nature conservation.
